The Weight of Freedom is a documentary project focused on the stories of individuals who were forced to flee Iran due to political persecution by the regime and the advocacy work they continue to do in Canada for those still suffering in the country. Through interview-driven journalism and longform visual storytelling, the documentary explores the responsibility many in the Iranian diaspora feel to use their freedom to speak out and push for change — the central meaning behind The Weight of Freedom. For this production, I conducted interviews, coordinated shoots, edited the documentary, created graphics, sourced music, and captured supporting footage.
